Motivated to find the best happy hour in Kamloops, Claire, Noa, Alli and Marina visited 4 different establishments in Kamloops. Each of these restaurants’ happy hour menus offered something different.
Noble Pig
Noble Pig is a local brew house in Kamloops with an excellent reputation. The Noble Pig located downtown on Victoria Street is known for beers. Fortunately for us students, who are on a budget, Noble Pig offers pints for $5.00 and discounted food! any tourists visiting Kamloops should gather some friends to experience this local spot. The service was excellent, and visitors won’t miss any sports action, thanks to the multiple TVs displaying a diverse selection of channels and sports. If you have time, we recommend that you stay for dinner! The Noble Pig menu is AMAZING!
Browns Socialhouse
The next happy hour we attended was at Browns Socialhouse. Browns Social house is located on Summit dr, a quick walk from Thompson Rivers University campus. Social Hour is EVERYDAY 3PM-6PM and 9PM-close. During Social hour we each ordered an appetizer and shared a shared a bottle of white wine between the four of us. During Social Hour, wine, lager and their social sodas are $4 and appetizers are $4 off. Browns has a fun and upbeat atmosphere and a menu full of delicious options. The covenant location and appealing prices, make this establishment a student’s dream! (Especially if you need to leave campus for a while and have a beverage while you study for those midterms. We won’t judge.)
Mittz Kitchen
Mittz Kitchen is located downtown on Victoria street, just a few blocks west of Noble Pig. This is another small, cosy and local restaurant. It offers happy hour EVERYDAY between 2PM-5PM. Their speciality cocktails are $7 or $9 for a double. Although their prices are slightly higher than the other places we visited, their cocktails are unique and vary between fruity and pink (Strawberry basil Lemonade) and strong and potent (Lychee Martini). Mittz is the ideal spot for speciality drinks and amazing comfort style-food.
Earls
Along with offering a traditional Happy hour, Earls also offers the unique experience of “bunch happy hour”. Brunch happy hour is offered every Saturday and Sunday between 10AM-12PM at the summit location. There are delicious brunch options that vary you have from a breakfast sandwich to eggs benedict to an Avocado toast. Bunch happy hour also includes drink specials for those needing a hangover cure. Mimosas, signature caesars and cold brew coffee with baileys are a few drinks offered at a discounted price during brunch happy hour. The welcoming atmosphere, delicious food and drinks at discounted prices was exactly what we needed after too many cocktails at Mittz the night before. Earls brunch happy hour is a great option for individuals who want an untraditional happy hour experience.
Overall, we were extremely happy with the happy hours we found in Kamloops. We experienced local places, such as Mittz and Noble Pig, and two franchises, Earls and Browns Socialhouse. Each establishment offered a variety of options to accommodate a variety of pallet preferences. We cannot wait to try more happy hours in the city!
