Are you struggling to find an authentic Italian meal at a restaurant in Seattle? Well, you have certainly come to the right place! Being full Italian and living in North America, I find it almost impossible to find an Italian restaurant that actually serves authentic cuisine that tastes like it was made in a kitchen in Italy and not some knock off American restaurant pretending to know how to actually cook real, homemade Italian food. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many people are unable to travel outside of their city, and trying new places to eat is as adventuress as it can get! In Seattle, there are three insanely delicious and authentic Italian restaurants that will make you feel like you are dining in the heart of Italy! Here are the most authentic Italian restaurants you will find for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Breakfast:

Caffe Senso Unico

A cup of Caffe Senso Unico’s expresso will make you feel like you just woke up in Venice! The expresso is out of this world and so is the Italian atmosphere. Homemade authentic Italian pastries, coffee, and quiche that will make you never want to have breakfast anywhere else! Located only 1km from the Space Needle, Caffe Senso Unico has the best coffee in Seattle that will definitely wake you up and ready to start your day. Caffe Senso Unico is also run by an Italian who also uses handmade plates and cups made in Italy which I find incredibly fascinating that just adds to the authenticity of the cafe! My personal favourite is a cup of Cappucino and a choco croissant.

Lunch:

Lo Priores Bros

By far my favourite restaurant in Seattle! From their meatball and sausage sandwiches to their pasta to their amazing pizza, everything is made from scratch and delicious. Their owners were born in Southern Italy and grew up in Toronto before moving to Seattle, and were fluent in Italian and English and super friendly. If you are craving a homemade Italian sandwich from the deli’s of Italy, this is definitely the restaurant for you. It is not the cheapest place, but the quality of the food makes it well worth it and it was my personal favourite restaurant when I went to Seattle last fall. My personal favourite was the Combo Sandwich with Italian Sausage and Meatball loaded with cheese and homemade Italian tomato sauce. On top of all this, it is located in the heart of Pike Place Market. Definitely A must visit on your next trip to Seattle!

Dinner:

Spinasse

Downtown Seattle

Now this place is a taste of real Italy! This restaurant is rated 5 stars on Google for a reason. I am usually cautiously optimistic but doubtful and extremely suspicious when going to an “American Italian” restaurant that receives such a high overall rating, as I’m full Italian and spent months there and know what real Italian food tastes like. But boy was I wrong! Spinasse hit it out of the park with not only their mouth-watering food but their true Italian atmosphere and service. Simply outstanding. If you want to go out on a romantic date with your significant other or want to impress someone, this is where to take them! Spinasse opened its doors in 2008 when it opened as a tiny, rustic Italian trattoria with limited seating and only mostly serving handmade pasta and the traditional authentic Italian cuisine of Northern Italy. Since then, they have expanded their restaurant into one of the most elegant and authentic romantic restaurants in all of Seattle. My personal favourite from this restaurant is the Tajarin Al Ragu, which is fine hand-cut egg pasta with pork and beef ragù. For dessert, do not forget to have the Crostata Di Melea which is an Apple crostata with frangipane, vanilla gelato and honey. Oh and not to mention the Italian red wine is simply a must.
