The warmth of the West
First visited by the First Nations people, the Sinixt First Nations were aware of the “magic waters” and their benefits before the Europeans located the hot springs. In 1890, Captain Sanderson’s fascination resulted in the purchase of four hundred acres. Small plunge pools with a tiny bar were constructed, and the hot water was fed utilizing a wooden pipe. The new spa overlooked a serene lake and the majestic Monashee mountains.

Hot springs beauty
Aside from its old-world history, Halcyon Hot springs rejuvenation was completed in 2019. The resort is a favourite destination in West Nakusp because of its luxury cottages, cabins, and fantastic leisure activities. At night guests are encouraged to enjoy soaking at all hours of the day, with children welcome from 9 am-8 pm and adults only from 8 pm to 9 pm.

Healing Waters
The ancient healing waters of the hot springs come from underground and contain minerals involving: magnesium, sodium, calcium, strontium and lithium. The high lithium in the waters has a healing effect upon muscles and bone disorders and as a cleanser when taken as a drink mixed with soda.
Halcyon’s seasonal mineral swimming pool is the largest of four, with a temperature of 86F/30C. For a hit of heat, the hot pool has a temperature of 104F/40C and a warm pool with 99F/37C. They also have a cold plunge with a temperature of 58F/14C.

With various accommodations from king chalets to pet-friendly rooms, Halcyon Hot springs rooms are welcoming and comfortable. The Kingfisher restaurant is open for brunch, lunch and dinner. You can enjoy food and drinks with a gorgeous view and amazing service.

The Spa at Halcyon offers guests several relaxing options. The space has a wide variety of treatments, including professional massages, skincare, and nail services. The couple’s massage is very popular among guests. It is excellent for a romantic experience or even a mother and daughter escape.

The Halcyon has hundreds of kilometres of trails and nature. Families enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities in this beautiful resort.
- Hiking/Biking
Activities such as hiking and mountain biking are available in the summer and fall. If you are in the mood for a short walk, Halcyon offers a lot of room for exploration. You can also pedal along the clear waters of Kuskanax or mountain climb the Silvercup Ridge Trail.

Halcyon presents incredible opportunities for fishing. You can head out to the beach on your own, or you can book a tour with an experienced fishing guide to help you catch a big one and have a fantastic time in the process.
