Are you a new international student to Kamloops and have not familiar with your way around the city? Then this guiding piece is for you!

I recalled the first day I came to Kamloops, my first impression about the city was that it was a small peaceful city, very different from the busy city where I came from. At first, I was afraid that I could not adjust to the quiet and calm lifestyle of Kamloops. Nonetheless, I gradually feel more attached after spending three years living in this lovely city, knowing the people, and getting to discover so many new spots.

Here is a list of five places that personally are my favorites and, I hope, by exploring these locations you will get a little bliss after a hard day studying and enjoy your stay in Kamloops.

  1. Korean BBQ Gui

Rich, colorful, and full of enticing flavors, Korean cuisine is something that cannot be missed. If you have never tried Korean food before; Korean BBQ Gui will make you a devotee.

BBQ Gui is the only restaurant in Kamloops that serves authentic Korean-style BBQ that makes cooking at your table a fun experience. The restaurant also provides vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options for guests with special diets.

With fair pricing and good services, Korean BBQ Gui is popular among Kamloops foodies. It is a great place to broaden your palette if you are not too adventurous when it comes to trying new cuisine.

Moreover, make sure you don’t skip out on their flavourful Beef Bulgogi Rice Cake, and Bibimbap. These two will not disappoint you in any way.

  1. Peter Pasta

A long-serving family business that has been served freshly made pasta since 1986. The restaurant has always been the talk of the town, with tons of positive reviews from both locals and tourists. Peter Pasta is indeed an ideal spot for a date night with your friend squad or your loved ones, thanks to its relaxed atmosphere and mouth-watering dishes.

Peter Pasta is always packed with diners and even queues outside the restaurant. However, all that wait will be paid off when you get a taste of their delicious pasta. Fortunately, they are now offering a take-out menu, prepared pasta kits, and Take & Bake dinners so guests can enjoy Peter Pasta at home without having to wait in line for so long.

Try their incredible Pork Tenderloin Creamy Mushroom pasta. Then finish the meal with their irresistible Crème Brulee or Gelato.

  1. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

If you are all about chocolate, head to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. It is a ‘Proudly Canadian’ company that has been entertaining its chocolate consumers since the opening of its very first store in Whistler Village in 1988. Visit their store and explore the exclusive, finest handmade chocolate creations.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory offers a wide selection of seasonal collections and gift bundles with so many flavors that will elevate your senses. For example, champagne bomb, Tiramisu caramel, Red Velvet caramel, Eggnog Meltdown, Pecan Pie Cluster, and the list goes on.

Besides that, if you are craving some ice cream after school, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory got you covered. Make a two-scope cone with Sticky Toffee Pudding, Pecan Toffee Crunch, Maple Walnut, or Vanilla/Chocolate Cookie Dough, etc. It is to die for! For some reason, my twin and I often stop by and order some ice cream in the freezing -15 Celsius weather. We find it is quite fun to do. And gradually, it becomes a ritual for us every winter.
