Introduction

Mumbai, India, is one of the most populated cities in not only India but it is one of the most populated cities in the world. People from different parts of the country and even outside the country live here together and make their dreams come true which is why it is also known as the city of dreams. Apart from the huge population of this city which is also surrounded by the concrete jungle There are some places which are makes the city even more beautiful and makes you fall in love with it. Lets have a look at some of them.

 

 

1)  The Gateway Of India:

The Gateway of India 

This structure was made in early 20th century to commemorate the visit of British Monarch to India. It the most famous tourist attractions in Mumbai. You will find a lot of ferry Boats which will take you to the other side of the city and will drop you back here at a very less price and the journey to the other side is also very enjoyable. Tourists can enjoy the delicious street food near The gateway of India and there are some fine restaurants in that area where people can enjoy a delicious meal. Tourists will also find lot of local photographers that will click pictures for you and will print them for you in no time so you can take those moments back with you. The security around that area is also pretty tight due to past incidents.

2)  The Elephanta Caves:

After you reach the other side of the city from the ferry ride from The Gateway of India you will reach the Elephanta Caves. These Caves were built in the 2nd century and were built by Buddhists as a temple for lord Shiva. These caves also have an archeological records giving us information about the people form the 2nd century. These caves are also very famous for their architecture and the way they are still preserved. Apart from the caves there is a lot of natural beauty surrounding the caves, Tourists can also get to know more about the life of the people in the near by villages and try their local cuisines.

3)  Juhu Beach:

After spending a long day at the Gateway of India and the Elephanta Caves get some rest at the Juhu Beach in Ville Parle. It is one of the most famous beaches in Mumbai and provides a beautiful view of the Arabian Sea. Apart from the beach there are many local vendors and sellers roaming around the beach selling local Chaat which is delicious everyone should try it. You can spend a nice calm evening at the beach enjoying the beautiful view of the sea and to make your trip even better there are a lot of local food stalls that serves all kinds of food and refreshments

Pro Tip: Avoid going during the weekends the place is very crowded 

Also try Pav Bhaji from any of the food stalls near you 

 

4)  Essel World: 

 

Essel World 

Essel World is one of the most famous theme parks in India. It is a great place for people who are travelling with kids as this theme park is not only for kids but adults too have the same amount of fun as the kids

There are many fun activities and rides for both kids and adults. Tourists can spend their whole day in there. People who used to live in Mumbai, this place brings a lot of nostalgic memories which makes their revisit a lot  more fun. Right next to Essel world there is a waterpark called Water Kingdom which has a lot of fun activities and water slides which are scary and fun at the same time.

 

Apart from the rollercoasters and other rides in Essel World there are other fun activities such as Ice skating, bowling, rock climbing, etc.

Pro tip: Do try these rides:  Thunder, Hoola Hoop, Top spin, Aqua Dive, Enterprise and Shot and Drop  (My personal favorites)

 

5) Haji Ali Dargah:

The Haji Ali Dargah is located on the coast of Worli and is a mosque or a shrine which is made on water  A slender, pebbled boardwalk links it to the mainland. A Sufi saint named Haji Ali Shah Bukhari has a shrine at Haji Ali. The Indo-Islamic design was used to construct this mosque around 1431. The complex’s marble courtyard serves as its focal point. Additionally, the main hall’s ceiling is made of marble. Arabic inscriptions and different colored mirror patterns have been used to embellish it. Quranic texts are also written on the walls and ceilings. The Haji Ali Dargah’s highest minaret is 85 feet tall. And at the five predetermined times throughout the day, namaz calls are performed from that minaret.

Pro tip: Since this place is located on the Arabian sea Travelers should check before visiting it could be closed due to high tides in the sea.
