Introduction

Primorye is one of the most fascinating and popular regions for tourists in terms of its’ history, culture, and landscapes. Little do people know, that originally this territory used to belong to China, and only in 1860 as a result of “Pekin act” was given to Russian Empire. It means that Primorsky Krai for quite a long time has been under the great cultural influence of China and other Asian countries, such as South Korea and Japan. Therefore, a lot of people from these countries travel to far east of Russia to explore cultural and historical aspects of this region.

However, the main purpose of their visits is admiring fabulous nature and beautiful landscapes which are comprised of mountains, rivers, and Sea of Japan – one of the main attractions. Since Primorye is located along the seaside, the hotels are not so common and popular there. The most common type of tourists’ housing are resorts. As a person who comes from Primorsky Krai and has rich experience working in tourism industry, I have created the top list of resorts you will love to stay in.

“Mansions”

Let’s begin our journey with the most luxurious resort in this top. “Mansions” is an eco-friendly place with an outstanding infrastructure. At first, you may mistake it for a little town, with its drug and grocery stores, but in fact, it is one of the best resorts in Primorsky Region.

Unlike other resorts in this list, “Mansions” operates throughout the entire year, including winter (a lot of tourists try to book this place during Christmas and New Year). Despite having just a few facilities, this resort does have a huge sauna, jacuzzi, swimming pool with a great view and a BBQ zone.

“Dream Bay”

To my mind, “Dream Bay” has the best location if you want to escape from the city noise and traffic pollution as it is situated on a secluded territory which is surrounded by forest and the sea.

There is a great number of included services such as complimentary breakfast and lunch, 2 swimming pools with slides (in case you do not like swimming in the sea or are afraid of open water), outdoor cinema theatre, volleyball court and a parking lot.

You may also benefit from additional facilities, for example, café, sauna, transfer, paddle boards, and kayaks rental. It is also important to note, that you want to book this resort way in advance during the summertime since it is quite popular among local tourists as well.

“Phoenix”

Located in relative proximity to Primorye’s capital – Vladivostok, “Phoenix” is one of my favorite resorts that I have ever been to for a couple of reasons. First, I am mesmerized by the diverse natural landscapes that surround the resort.

By this, I mean a wild beach that has an old, abandoned bunker that was left after WW2, a huge lake, and a river that gives a “tropical” vibe and does resemble mangroves. Second, there are so many facilities that you can use, for example, paddleboarding with a certified instructor on the lake and a “tropical” river, boat trips to wild beaches, and the mentioned above bunker.

Moreover, if you prefer an active lifestyle, then “Phoenix” will be the best option for you, because it has badminton, volleyball, football, and basketball courts that are free (if you do not have inventory, staff will kindly give it to you for an additional charge). If you are planning to come during the winter, then there are sauna and billiard tables that are actually in service throughout the year.

*Please, note that most resorts are not pet friendly. Therefore, if you travel with a pet, consider other places to stay. Hotels, for example. *
