To find a very nice restaurant to have dinner with friends or family in Kamloops  is not hard, but what about a place to satisfy that sweet tough of yours? Don’t worry I have you covered. Me and my friend Vee went to four different places where we can for sure say your sweet tooth is going to be satisfied. All four of these delicious sweet spots are located close to each  other and are very easy to access either by car or bus. Today I’m going to let you in on how Gold Leaf Pastries, Sweet Spot Cupcakes, Fresh St Market and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory manage can give you an experience out of this world by multiple desserts full of flavour.

Fresh St. Market 

Our first stop of the day was done at Aberdeen Mall. This new location has a hidden gem for people searching for a good dessert. The Fresh St. Market has just opened its doors to Kamloops and has demonstrated good potential. As we walked in we were not sure if the dessert section was going to be good, the only thing we knew for sure was that they looked amazing!

The queue was pretty long and as we waited we could see more people behind us. Although they had a long line we reached the dessert section pretty fast. Me and Vee purchased two different desserts, a lemon tart and a classic eclair.

Now fellow readers I’m going to say these two desserts exceeded our expectations!

The lemon tart was fresh, smooth and full of flavour as for the crust the texture was cooke-like. The eclair was also fresh and full of flavour, the chocolate covering was not to hard but not melted, the dough was crisp and easy to chew. The cream filling was delicious and sweet but not to much.

Sweet Spot Cupcakes 

Our second stop of the day was at Sweet Spot Cupcakes. Located in 8-1415 Hillside Dr, Kamloops we are meet with this candy land for cupcake lovers. Sweet Spot Cupcakes is owned by Paige Knapp a self taught baker who over the years perfected her creations. Sweet Spot Cupcakes is known for all the great flavours they put in each one of their cupcakes. Me and Vee head in to this candy land with great expectations and I can tell you I received what I came for.

As we head in the place has a very cute ambience and right away present you with their creations. This cupcake wonderland gives you two different sizes for their cupcakes. Either bite size cupcakes or regular size cupcakes. As we had to try different flavours me and Vee got four different and unique flavours. Cherry Cola, Candy Cane, Raspberry Dream and Salted Caramel. 

I got to admit I was expecting this cupcakes to be either very weird or very good as you can imagine these are flavour we do not usually eat, expect for salted caramel of course. The first cupcake we tried was Cherry Cola. At first the flavours don’t seem to match but as they settle boy they are good. The flavour is well balanced and it satisfies the candy craving with the chocolate base. The second flavour is Candy Cane. Now let me tell you, if you like mint flavour you are going to love this one. Just like the cherry cola the flavours are well balances and the candy cane flavour does not feel fake or to much. Unfortunately if you do not like mint flavour I would say not to get it as Vee totally hate this one. The third flavour we tried was Raspberry Dream. For this cupcake me and Vee had a hard time understanding the flavours and how at sometimes the raspberry would be more strong than anything else. Although the fruit inside gave a strong taste it was still manageable and enjoyable but it wasn’t a taste that you could get used to. The last flavour we tried was the Salted Caramel. I gotta say this was our favourite cupcake and its because it was a classic flavour, literally nothing could go wrong with this flavour. The cupcake was sweet and salty creating a perfect balance between the two not only on the batter but also on the frosting. The frosting was not heavy, instead it felt like air.

Gold Leaf PastriesGold Leaf Pastries - Instagram Post

Located in 14-1415 Hillside Dr, Kamloops we visited our third location of the day. Gold Leaf Pastries a French dessert location is owned by Carly Harding a Red Seal Pastry chef who has studied across the world to provide her customer with the finest French desserts. Gold Leaf Pastries is the perfect place to enjoy a sweet dessert with options even for our viewers who are looking for wheat free options! Gold Leaf Pastries make sure that all desserts are made from the finest ingredients out there, as well as options of making any dessert to the size you want.

During our visits to Gold Lead Pastries, me and Vee ordered a Dark Chocolate Mousse Raspberry Jelly which did not disappoint. The dessert was rich in flavour and the texture was soft, the dessert melted in our mouths at every bite and with the cooling feeling of the raspberry jelly the whole dessert just came to life.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

Our last stop of the day was at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, located in 755 – 105 McGill Rd, Kamloops. This place is by far the when it comes to chocolate. For all of our readers who’s sweet tooth focus on chocolate I will recommend this place. The moment we got in to this location we were received by the smell and warmth of chocolate. Just like Gold Leaf Pastries this location is a sight. At all point of the store you are able to see the place’s creations full of details and colour.

Although me and Vee wanted to eat everything in the store after eating sweets all day we needed a tiny break. To get a break from extra sweet dessert we went for something different and light. We decided to go for the Triple Chocolate Espresso Beans which are coffee beans covered in triple chocolate. As a coffee lover this treat was great as it balanced the flavours without the coffee over powering the chocolate flavour, besides that the coffee flavour gives it a little quick making you keep eating.

To say the least we finished the bag in 5 minutes!

Final Thoughts?

after a whole day of eating amazing desserts me and Vee agreed that the best place was Gold Leaf Pastries. The way the dessert tasted and felt in out mouth was not over powered by any other dessert place. Not only that but the presentation of the dessert also added to the experience. Fellow readers, even though we agreed that Gold Leaf Pastries had the best dessert on Kamloops we also agree how the other three places mentioned had amazing desserts that can satisfies you sweet tooth.
